Guest preview API

Create a temporary preview link from code with one HTTP request. This endpoint needs no API key.

Endpoint

POST /api/guest-preview-links

Request

Send JSON with the public IP address of the new server and the domain name to preview.

Response

A successful request returns HTTP 201 with the preview URL, the subdomain and the expiry time. A guest link expires 10 minutes after it is created.

Limits

• 10 requests per minute per IP address. Requests above that limit get HTTP 429.
• The IP must be a public address. Private and reserved ranges are rejected.
• Facebook, X (Twitter) and Reddit domains are not allowed.

Other endpoints

The /api/preview-links and /api/server-diff routes need an API key, sent in the X-API-Key header or as a Bearer token.
